The natural mountain ranges, small towns and varied landscapes perfectly complete this cycling getaway along the coast and inland Valencia.
Go ahead and pedal through Valencian lands.
The trip starts in Gandia
The trip ends in Valencia
You will arrive in Gandia the day before you start pedaling. Don’t forget to walk along its kilometer-long beach, visit the Palace of the Borgia family and eat their famous Fideuá.
After breakfast, we will start pedaling south along a pleasant greenway that will take us to a small town by the sea. From there we will continue parallel to the sea until we reach some unexpected rice fields next to the mountains. We will crown several ports that will make us check if we have good legs before heading to Gandia.
The second stage starts hard, since in the first kilometers we will ascend to La Drova, a small town in the mountains. We will descend to a beautiful valley with an immense monastery that is worth visiting and then we will pedal through orange groves until we reach Cullera and its immense stone mass on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
After breakfast, today’s stage will take us to one of the most beautiful corners of the area: the Pantano de Tous. In addition, today we will have the first contact with the rice fields located by the sea. We will see the ancient irrigation methods of the area as well as kilometer-long plantations of fruit trees.
Today we will arrive at the capital of the Valencian Community. But before seeing its famous City of Arts and Sciences, we will ascend slightly to have a beautiful panoramic view of the sea while pedaling among persimmons. Once in Valencia, you cannot miss the fishing district, the port and the La Malvarrosa pass next to the city beach.
Today will be the last stage of the trip, and to celebrate it, you will pedal through the northern mountains of Valencia, ascending the most important ports near the capital. They are beautiful ports with little traffic and in some points you can see the sea in the background. It will be a long stage, ideal to finish with a good taste.
