With this magnificents cycling tour you will get to know the Netherlands in its purest form by bike. Cycling through big cities like Amsterdam, The Hague or Utretch. Numerous architectural monuments, cultural heritage museums and the famous canals of Holland.
The picturesque landscapes, green meadows, large tulip fields, small villages and typical houses will make you fall in love. You can also visit the famous windmills and learn about their history.
It will be a route with many contrasts, from big cities to small villages, passing along the banks of several rivers and approaching the beach.
The bycicle presents you the opportunity to visit these wonderful places, with tranquility, fresh air and at your own pace.
Day 1: Arrival at the first hotel in Amersfoort
It will be a relaxing day, preparing for the cyclotourist route. In Amersfoort you could have a stroll through its narrow streets and stores.
Day 2: Amersfoort – Amsterdam 63-68km
In the first stage you will cycle through Naarden-Vesting, a very well preserved fortification, until you reach Amsterdam just after passing by the beautiful lake of Ijsselmeer. Once in Amsterdam, you will enjoy the famous and incredible canals declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its museums and cultural attractions.
Day 3: Amsterdam – Zandvoort/Noordwijkerhout 50/60km
Today will take you to Haarlem with the famous and picturesque “Hofjes”, gardens that wealthy inhabitants kept in the 18th and 19th centuries for widows to work in. Continuing on to “Keukenhof”, a spectacular garden, even more beautiful when it is the tulip blossom season. In Zandvoort you can go to the dunes and beach and contemplate the views.
Day 4: Zandvoort/Noordwijkerhout – La Haya/Delft 50/60 km
In this stage there are many attractions passing through the city of Leiden known for its university, like for example the many museums such as the Museum of Ethnology. On the way to The Hague we can enjoy the beautiful beach in the city of Scheveningen. The Hague is the administrative and governmental capital. There you can visit museums, canals, monuments or the beautiful historic center.
Day 5: La Haya/Delft – Papendrecht 50/60km
Today we will arrive in Papendrecht. For this we will cycle through the city of Delft, another city known for its university. It is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Holland, thanks to its buildings, sights and hidden treasures. Before arriving at our destination we will cycle through Kinderdijk, famous for its windmills, a typical visit of the Netherlands.
Day 6: Papendrecht – Utrecht 62 km
Continuing this cycling tour you will cycle through Schoonhoven to Utrecht. Schoonhoven is a small, romantic town on the banks of the river Lek. In the surroundings many farmers raise cattle for the famous Gouda cheese. You can visit the museum of gold, silver and clocks. Traveling through beautiful scenery to Utrecht.
Day 7: Utrecht – Amersfoort 45 km
Finally, in Utrech you can visit its impressive churches or one of its museums. And back to Amersfoort, through a beautiful landscape with panoramic views of Holland.

Doing the beach, cities and tulips route is a unique experience. You will visit wonderful places, a picturesque landscape, with green meadows, tulip fields, a very beautiful environment. You will also discover the history of several cities. It´s great gastronomy will give you strength to continue cycling, don’t forget to taste the Gouda cheese!

I am only one person, can I still book?
Yes, you can book as a single traveler.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.
Are there roads?
Practically the entire trip is on Vias Verdes, tracks or asphalt roads. If you make the stage to Valencia, there are a few kilometers of link that are made by road where you should drive with caution.
