Details of the Stockholm archipelago from island to island bike trip

A proposal to cycle through the history between these two central European capitals: Prague and Krakow.

The trip will start by the Elbe River, and you will cycle through medieval cities, colorful villages like Moravská Třebová or fairytale castles like Bouzov. But not only that, as the trip also includes getting to know the Beskydy Mountains and its panoramic view of the area, other postcard villages like Hranice or Pszyna with its castle and open-air museum.

But it is in Oswieczim (Auschwitz) and the nearby Nazi concentration camp where the trip will be completed.  We will reach the capital of Poland via the Amber Trail, where we can visit its famous old town and Wawel Castle.

Discover for yourself and through the pedals dream castles, cross forests and rivers while riding through hidden villages of Central Europe. Go cycling and get to know Prague and Krakow by bike.

Day 1: Arrival at Stockolhm

Relaxing day to visit the city the day before starting to cycle.

Day 2: Stockholm – Vaxholm 30-40 km

You are now ready for this new adventure. To get to Nymburk, our first stop, we must catch a train that will take us there. It’s time to get on our bikes.

Enjoy a pleasant ride on cycling paths along the Elbe River until we reach Poděbrady, famous for its spa and natural spring – they say its water is healing!

Nearby is the town of Kolin, where its synagogue is the star attraction. Don’t hesitate to visit it if you have time. It’s time to head to our final destination, Kutná Hora also called “Silver City”.

It belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage List for its great historical value and its architectural jewels, including St. Barbara’s Church. A true work of art from the Gothic period.

Day 3: Vaxholm – Varmdo 35 -40 km

We cannot say goodbye to this great city without first visiting the Sedlec Ossuary. A chapel decorated with human bones and skeletons. We assure you that it will not leave you indifferent.

Do you like horses? Meet the royal stables of Kladruby Nad Labem, one of the oldest and most famous stud farms in the world. A real experience.

We are still on the road and for those who are looking for something sweet, you have found it! – Pardubice is the Czech capital of traditional gingerbread. Delicious.

Day 4: Varmdo – Sandhamm – Varmdo 25 km

A day of hills and slopes will be rewarded by climbing a small mountain and glimpsing the beautiful castle of Kunětická Hora, a real hidden treasure. If you like golf, you are in luck, there is an 18-hole professional golf course right here.

You will pass through an almost uninhabited but charming village although our real destination will leave you speechless. The town of Litomyšl (protected by UNESCO) keeps a monumental castle from 1500, the square and its renaissance and baroque houses make it a very special and particular destination. You will not stop taking pictures!

Rest and sleep in this beautiful city while you continue to discover its secrets.

Day 5: Varmdo – Saltsjobaden 55 km

We say goodbye to the beautiful Bohemian lands and cross between the mountains of Moravia and the Eagle Mountains. We will find a tiny but history-laden town, the town of Svitavy; birthplace of Oskar Schindler whose life and story is well known from Steven Spiellberg’s film Schindler’s List.

Our last stop is Moravská Třebová, time to rest and recharge our batteries.

Day 6: Saltsjobaden – Stockholm 35 km
