A Greenway is an old railroad line that has been rehabilitated as a track for cycle tourism. This proposal of the Ojos Negros Greenway includes detours to get to know elements of great scenic, cultural and gastronomic value that are close to the original route. The Ojos Negros Greenway is the longest in Spain and we propose the following options to customize your trip depending on the number of stages:
3 stages and 3 nights. 140km approx. Teruel – Valencia
4 stages and 4 nights. 180km approx. Teruel – Valencia
5 stages and 5 nights. 230km approx. Albarracín – Valencia
6 stages and 6 nights. 275km approx. Albarracín – Valencia.
Any route of the proposed Ojos Negros Greenway is a very nice and easy option that we recommend for people who are starting out with family or friends. The stages are simple and very interesting in terms of scenery. In addition, you can rent an electric bike for those who prefer!
Short option, 3 stages and 3 nights Teruel – Valencia
After breakfast, the Ojos Negros route will begin. The first stage will be full of surprises. We will pedal through very diverse forests such as pine, oak or juniper through different valleys and mountains that will allow us to relax while we move towards the coast.
Today we leave Aragon behind to enter the Valencian Community. The pine forests are still around us while the plantations of fruit trees such as medlar, orange, lemon and fig trees start to appear. As we descend, we will pass numerous bridges and tunnels that will take us back in time remembering when the railroad passed through this same place. Before reaching Segorbe, we will stop in Navajas to see the fabulous Salto de La Novia.
Day 4: Segorbe – Valencia55 km
This is your last day of the tour. We reach the end of the Ojos Negros Greenway where we continue pedaling through fruit trees and lush pine forests. Once we have finished the route of the Greenway, we will head to Sagunto. If we have the chance, we must not miss the visit to the castle. The end of the route will take us between orange trees to Valencia.
Long option, Albarracín – Valencia in 5 stages and 5 nights
Day 1: Arrival at the first hotel the night before the first stage. Arrival in Albarracín
Relaxing day to visit Albarracín and its wonderful narrow streets the day before we start pedaling. There we will do the briefing of the route, delivery of equipment, etc.. Today is a day to relax and get ready to cycle the Ojos Negros Greenway.
Day 2: Albarracín – Teruel 45km
The first stage will allow us to cycle through the south of Aragon and discover its valleys before descending towards the Mediterranean Sea.
Day 3: Teruel – Sarrión 50km
This stage will be full of surprises. We will pedal through very diverse forests such as pine, oak or juniper through different valleys and mountains that will relax us as we move towards the coast.
Day 4: Sarrión – Segorbe 65km
The pine forests are still with us while the plantations of fruit trees such as loquat, orange, lemon and fig trees appear. As we descend, we will pass numerous bridges and tunnels that will take us back in time remembering when the railroad passed through this same place. Before reaching Segorbe, we will stop in Navajas to see the fabulous Salto de La Novia.
Day 5: Segorbe – Sagunto / Canet de Berenguer 43km
We reach the end of the Ojos Negros Greenway where we continue pedaling between fruit trees and lush pine forests. Today we will reach the sea after finishing the original route of the Ojos Negros Greenway.
This is your last day of the tour. Once we finish the Greenway, we will head to Valencia surrounded by lots of orange trees.
The full version, Albarracín – Valencia with Albufera in 6 stages and 6 nights

What is it like to do the Ojos Negros Greenway by bike?
Doing the Ojos Negros Greenway by bike is one of the cycling experiences that you have to do at least once.
The original route was an old train track that went down from the Ojos Negros mine to the Mediterranean. It is now mostly paved and is a great way to do something different with the family.
It is an easy and enjoyable route, away from the roads and constantly descending to the sea.The variety of the landscape with constant fruit plantations, bridges and tunnels make it a lot of fun.

The accommodations on this trip along the Ojos Negros Greenway have been selected for their quality and location, as close as possible to the route. Always valuing the comfort when arriving with the bicycle and inspected by our team. They are 3-4 star hotels and rural tourism accommodation, always in private rooms with bathroom and good food!
I am only one person, can I still book?
Yes, you can book as a single traveler.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.
Are there roads?
Practically the entire trip is on Vias Verdes, tracks or asphalt roads. If you make the stage to Valencia, there are a few kilometers of link that are made by road where you should drive with caution.
