Make the King Ferdinand’s Route by bike and discover the place where he was born, crossing medieval villages, hermitages and castles. Pedaling on roads, tracks and trails with a unique landscape. Reaching the summits of Santo Domingo and Puy Moné.
You will enjoy a varied landscape. La Estanca is the largest wetland on this route. You will know Peña, an uninhabited nucleus from where the views are very beautiful. There will also be time to visit other historical monuments such as the Roita Castle or the hermitage of La Magdalena. In addition, you can be in Petilla de Aragón, birthplace of the Nobel Prize for Medicine, Santiago Ramon y Cajal.

Day 1: Arrival at Uncastillo
Relaxing day to visit Uncastillo the day before starting to cycle. It will be time to rest and gather strength to start the route the next day.
Day 2: Uncastillo – Sos del Rey Católico 62km & 1460m+
First stage with continuous ascents and descents, pedaling through forest tracks, trialeras and some asphalt stretch. From Uncastillo, which already has only the only vineyard in the area. You will pass through Castiliscar, entering the largest wetland of the route with plenty of birds. Then you will go through Sofuente and Peña, an uninhabited village. From this last place you will be able to see a whole natural hillside. To finish we will pass by the Tower of Añués, remains of the medieval complex.
Day 3: Sos del Rey Católico – Pintano 41 & 1270m+
Today we will visit the Yesa reservoir and several small villages. In the stage you will see the Roita Castle, the Pettilla de Aragón (birthplace of Santiago Ramón y Caja, Nobel Prize in Medicine), as well as the hermitage of Margdalena at the top of the mountain with amazing panoramic views.
Day 4: Pintano – Biel 54km & 1515m+
Today we will visit the Yesa reservoir and several small villages. In the stage you will see the Roita Castle, the Pettilla de Aragón (birthplace of Santiago Ramón y Caja, Nobel Prize in Medicine), as well as the hermitage of Margdalena at the top of the mountain with amazing panoramic views.
Day 5: Biel – Uncastillo 64km & 1190m+
Although it is the longest stage in terms of kilometers, it will also be the most beautiful in terms of culture and scenery. Places like Pozo de Pigalo, where you can take a dip. The towers of Sibirana and the remains of Santa Quiteria. Or the chaparro de Anas, a large and ancient tree, considered a singular tree of Aragon.

What is it like to do the King Ferdinand’s Route bike trip
Doing the Route du Roi Ferdinand will take you through a varied landscape, between tracks, roads and trails. Climbing to the summits of Santo Domingo and Puy Moné. You will pedal through the largest wetland in the area, reservoirs, wells, among vineyards, the chaparro de Anas, and at all times observing the Pyrenean landscape of the area.

Yes, you can book as a single traveler.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.
Are there roads?
Practically the entire trip is on Vias Verdes, tracks or asphalt roads. If you make the stage to Valencia, there are a few kilometers of link that are made by road where you should drive with caution.
