Day 1: Arrival in Hamburg
A relaxing day to enjoy the city of Hamburg before your first stage.
Day 2: Hamburg → Glückstadt
Follow dreamlike paths to the historic city of Lübeck. For much of the route, the Elbe-Lübeck Canal will be your faithful companion, offering a serene and picturesque ride. Before arriving, the iconic church towers will appear on the horizon to welcome you, inviting you to discover the secrets of this medieval gem.
Day 3: Glückstadt → Brunsbüttel
After leaving Lübeck’s history behind, the route opens toward the fresh air of the Baltic Sea coast. Following the coastal cycle path north, you arrive in Neustadt in Holstein, a town full of authentic maritime atmosphere. Its harbor is perfect for a leisurely stroll, while the old town awaits with cozy cafés and restaurants, ideal for celebrating a perfect stage.
Day 4: Ferry & Danish coast
From Neustadt, the route hugs the coastline, passing lively seaside resorts and quiet fishing villages that preserve their traditional charm. The highlight of this stage is reaching the Fehmarn Sound Bridge, an impressive feat of engineering seemingly floating over the Baltic. Crossing it, you’ll feel suspended between sky and sea, enjoying breathtaking panoramic views as you enter the magical island of Fehmarn.
Day 5: Island cycling
After a short transfer to Puttgarden harbor, you’ll embark on a 45-minute ferry crossing over the Baltic to Rødby, your gateway to Denmark. From there, the route becomes pure serenity as you cycle across the picturesque island of Lolland to Maribo. In this charming town, where your rest awaits, you can unwind by visiting its majestic cathedral or traveling back in time at the open-air museum.
Day 6: Zealand countryside
Your journey continues through the rural heart of Lolland, crossing the impressive Storstrøm Bridge to the island of Falster. After exploring its green paths and crossing the waters of Guldborgsund, you’ll finally reach Zealand, Denmark’s largest island. Today’s destination is Næstved, a city steeped in history at every corner. Here, you can admire the elegance of Gavnø Castle or immerse yourself in the past at its fascinating Medieval Center.
Day 7: Arrival in Copenhagen
The route now enters the heart of Zealand, a section where asphalt gives way to deep forests, clear lakes, and endless fields. This well-marked path is a peaceful oasis, offering constant opportunities to pause in nature. Upon reaching the east coast, Køge welcomes you, a town frozen in time. Stroll through its market square and admire the timber-framed houses, a step back into history. If your legs need a break before the final push, Køge also offers the convenience of the S-train to reach central Copenhagen in no time.
