The Flanders cycling route is an ideal mix of culture and nature. During the trip you can enjoy beautiful villages and towns. Like Roeselare and its harbour on the canal. Ypres, a city with a fascinating history that will surprise you. You can learn more about the history of the First World War at the Flanders Fields Museum. And in Dixmuda you will also discover more of the history of the area. The most interesting city is Bruges, with its richer cultural heritage. But you are sure to fall in love with the coastal towns.
During the ride, apart from the history, the scenery you will ride through will be incredible. The river Yser, the canals and the green landscape will accompany you.
Day 1: Arrival at Roeselare
Today we will arrive at our destination, it will be a day to rest and gather strength for the route, so take the opportunity to visit the National Cycling Museum!
Day 2: Roeselare-Ypres 31km
The first day of cycling will take us to Ypres, a city famous for the attacks it suffered during the First World War. We recommend a visit to the market square and the famous Menenpoort city gate. You can also visit the museum dedicated to WWI or the cemetery. If you are more in the mood for cycling, enjoy the hills and the city wall route.
Day 3: Ypres-Dixmuda 45-60km
Today we will enjoy another medieval village Poperinge, known for the hops grown in the area. Continuing with the history of WWI you can visit “Talbot House” and also the Trappist abbey of St. Sixtus. This is where the Westlvleteren beer, voted best beer in the world, is brewed. Finally, we will drive along the banks of the Ijzer to Dixmuda.
Day 4: Dixmuda-Bruge 61km
From Dixmuide you will cycle to Bruges, cycling through the most rural and culturally attractive part of the region. In Bruges, make the most of your time and stroll through its streets, visit monuments and see the Belfort of Bruges, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the 83-metre bell tower. A city you will fall in love with.
Day 5: Bruge-Knokke 59km
Today we will explore the area between Bruges and the coastal town of Knokke. It will be unforgettable to cycle through the polder and dune landscape or visit the nature reserve of Het Zwin.
Day 6: Bruge-De Haan 52km
Hoy, haremos una ruta circular conociendo otra parte costera. De Haan es un pueblecito con un encanto singular, ya que sus fachadas están decoradas con motivos florales, conservando el estilo de la “Belle Epoque” del siglo XIX.
Day 7: Bruge-Roeselare 59km
The last day of the cycling tour will take us back to Roeselare. Before we pass two castles, Aertrycke and Wijnendaele, both of which are worth a stop and a visit!
Day 8: End of the trip
After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to return home with another cycling experience.

The accommodations on this trip have been selected for their quality and location. Always valuing the comfort when arriving with the bicycle. They are 3-4 star hotels, with private room and bathroom.
I am only one person, can I still book?
Yes, you can book as a single traveler.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.
Are there roads?
Practically the entire trip is on Vias Verdes, tracks or asphalt roads. If you make the stage to Valencia, there are a few kilometers of link that are made by road where you should drive with caution.
