Enjoy this wonderful vacation on the Atlantic Coast of France, cycling through nature and discovering a rich gastronomy and the incredible Dune de Pilat. If you want to make a family bike trip in France, this is one of the most beautiful bike trips in the country. You will go from Bordeaux to the Atlantic.
Throughout the trip you will discover charming beaches where you can relax and take a swim, or if you dare, practice some of the most common sports in the area, including surfing.
In addition, you will also cross cities like Bordeaux, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco and a city that hosts a lot of movement, or Arcachon, a curious city divided into four districts that refer to the four seasons and where the famous dune is located.
Don’t forget to try the oysters, specialty of the bay!
Day 1: Arrival at Burdeos
Welcome to France!
We hope you will arrive early so that you can take advantage of the day and visit this beautiful city, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. You will be able to walk or cycle through its streets, visit its gardens, its large squares and its gothic cathedral, Saint André.
In the evening, recharge your batteries at your accommodation because tomorrow you will start pedaling.
Day 2: Burdeos – Saint Médard 24 km
Today’s stage will be a light one, with a low mileage. You will be able to enjoy the beautiful views while cycling gently towards Saint Médard. You can take the opportunity to have a picnic along the way in the middle of nature before continuing on the trail.
Day 3: Saint Médard – Lacanau 49 km
Today, after breakfast, you will start the tour parallel to the coast, crossing several beaches ideal for surfing or enjoy the great spectacle of the surfers themselves.
At the end of the day you will reach Lacanau, a beautiful coastal town located on the Côte de la Plata and consisting of some of the most beautiful beaches in France. Finally, you will arrive at your accommodation to rest.
Day 4: Circular route from Lacanau 32 km
Today, you will take a tour around Lacanau to discover its forests, fauna and flora along several trails before returning.
You will be able to choose between several options, since the objective is to get to know the surroundings and practice what you like the most, whether it is a swim in the beaches, a visit to the lake or a combination of all of them.
At the end of the day we will return to Lacanau to rest.
Day 5: Lacanau – Arcachon 44 km + Ferry transfer
Today, after breakfast you will ride along the bike path to Cap Ferret.
Later you will take a boat to Arcachon (included in the price) enjoying the wonderful views of the ocean and the entire Atlantic coast. You can also take the opportunity to take some pictures and take a break from the bike ride.
The trip will last about 1 hour and you will finally reach Arcachon, where you will spend the night in a nice accommodation.
Day 6: Circular route in Arcachon 41 km and end of the trip
Today will start in the beautiful city of Arcachon, curiously divided into four neighborhoods named after the four seasons. Take the opportunity to do some city sightseeing before or after the stage, as today’s route will be circular.
The stage will take you through the Leyre delta, where you can do some water activities such as kayaking, and enjoy the company of different species of animals, especially birds.
Later return to Arcachon and don’t forget to try some of their famous oysters.
Day 7: Circular route in the Dune of Pilat 26 km and end of the trip
Today’s route will be calmer, with less km, but it will take you to a charming place with magnificent panoramic views.
You will finally meet the Dune of Pilat!
We recommend that you park your bikes at the entrance and climb to the top of the Dune, you can access the top via the stairs or climb up the mountains of sand. We hope you will enjoy like children and discover the most fun way to descend the dune, you will certainly end the trip in the best possible way.

I am only one person, can I still book?
Yes, you can book as a single traveler.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
