Details of the Essence of the Mediterranean bike trip

Beautiful cycling tour to discover the true essence of the Mediterranean by bike. This trip is available all year round except July and August in individual and self-guided format. Also available in guided group on specific dates, you can see it here.

The first part of the tour goes through the Utiel-Requena region, where you will learn the secrets of the Utiel-Requena Denomination of Origin, visit wineries and an oil mill to learn more about the culture of the area.

Then, on the way to the Mediterranean Sea, you will cycle between small villages through multiple fruit plantations, among which persimmon, oranges or lemons stand out. You will be able to see the Tous Dam, with one of the most impressive views of the coast.

In a gentle descent through the cradle of the Valencian orange, the end of the bike trip will take you, pedaling along the Júcar River, to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in Cullera. It will be worth the effort to climb up to the castle, where the views are breathtaking.

You will reach Valencia through the Albufera Natural Park and the best beaches in the south of Valencia. Weather permitting, you will be able to swim in beaches where it is hard to find anyone.

Day 1: Arrival at Requena

Afterwards, you will continue the tour towards the south, where you will have the opportunity to pedal through vineyards and immerse yourself in the Utiel-Requena Denomination of Origin. We will visit a traditional winery in the area.

Day 3: Utiel – Requena – Alborache 65km & 460m+

After two days in the heart of the Valencian wine region, you will leave the valley pedaling gently along roads that will take you to a very different landscape. You will leave the vineyards behind to immerse yourself in Mediterranean forest and fruit plantations. You will sleep near the Buñol river, where you can discover the route of the mills.

Day 4: Alborache – Alcira 60km & 100m+

After a good breakfast, you will follow the bike route to the cradle of the Valencian orange. A gentle bike ride to Alcira full of fruit plantations. Mainly persimmons and orange trees.
