Today we start the bike tour from Biar. We start pedaling through olive plantations in a flat land that takes us to Banyeres de Mariola. There we will take a gravel track to fully enter the Natural Area of the Sierra de Mariola. We can make a picnic along the river that accompanies us as we move along with different types of fruit trees. After returning to the road we will go to the imposing medieval town of Bocairent, where we will spend the night. We can’t miss his old town. Points of interest: Natural Site of the Sierra Mariola.
After a good breakfast, we will start pedaling towards Ontiyent, a city with an architectural historical center worth visiting. We will start on the Greenway to La Valleta d’ Agres, which begins at the doors of our hotel and we will cycle through a perfect landscape to relax: fruit trees, agricultural land and the Sierra de Mariola. We will pass through the villages of Alfafara and Agres, with a special charm to enter a sea of fruit trees of all kinds. Prepare smell to identify fruits! Then we will go down between two stone walls following the curve of the river until we reach Pou Clar, where we can bathe and relax after the stage. Points of interest: Alfares de Agres and the Pou Clar river with bathing area.
We will start pedaling downhill along a quiet road through cornfields, olive groves and vineyards. We will pass through some buildings in total harmony with the landscape as we approach Fontanars dels Alforins. Here we will visit a house that previously belonged to a noble lord. We will visit local craft shops and gastronomic specialties. A wine tasting is also available.
We will start the day pedaling through fertile plantations of almond, olive and apricots next to land full of persimón and old vineyards. We will pass through Albaida with its imposing fortified palace guarding its historic center. We will also see small villages until we reach the surroundings of Bellús. It is an area of high ecological value, and we can see old mills, azuts as well as different infrastructure for irrigation. We can take a dip in the Albaida river in summer, before heading to Xativa and its imposing castle. Points of interest: Albaida River
We leave the city of Xativa to introduce ourselves fully in land full of orange trees that will accompany us to Valencia. We will cross kilometers surrounded by orange trees, with their green and orange color while pedaling along roads with hardly any traffic. We will crown the port of Barx, where we can recover from the effort by having lunch, to continue along a pilgrimage road that joins different monasteries, where we will have the opportunity to explore the impressive Simat de la Valldigna monastery. The orange trees are finished and the huge rice fields appear, where we will reach Cullera. A coastal city with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea where we can taste the typical rice dishes of the area. We can enjoy its beaches throughout the year. Points of interest: Simat de la Valldigna
Last day of the route! We will pedal along the Xúquer River, which is responsible for giving life to so many orchards and fields, passing through two small villages (Fortaleny and Riola) that preserve the essence of the villages of yesteryear. We will go back to the Albufera Natural Park, where once we reach Palmar, a fishing village, where we will enjoy a nice typical Valencian paella. Later we will arrive in Valencia by the virgin beaches of the Natural Park.
