Details of the Discover central Europe: from Prague to Passau bike trip
The Prague – Passau bicycle route is one of the main communication routes between the Czech Region and Germany.
On this bike trip we will visit numerous Bohemian cities that will not leave us indifferent, from its capital Prague, which is a museum in itself, to Tábor, famous for the Hussite wars.
The next stop will be the Renaissance town of Cesky Krumlov, pearl of medieval, Renaissance and Baroque Central Europe with more than 300 historic buildings.
We will cross the former Iron Curtain through the forests of Sumava, the largest national park in the Czech Republic.
Our journey will end in Passau, an ancient Lower Bavarian town on the banks of the Danube River and next to the Austrian border.
Day 1: Arrival at Prague
Arrival in the Netherlands, Westeinderplassen. It will be a day to relax and prepare for the cyclotourist route.
Day 2: Prague – Konopiste 61 km
In this first stage through Amsterdam by bike you will get to know the area of the Netherlands where peat was extracted for centuries. Although as a consequence of the increasing population the land was needed for living. Being many dried up lakes that are now used as recreation and natural experience. Along the way you will enjoy the scenery, farms, dams and windmills.
Day 3: Konopiste – Tabor 60 km
Today you will discover the beautiful 18th century villas along the Vecht river. In Loenen, you will have to wait to cross the bridge, given the water traffic. You will cycle around the river system of this place, passing by one of the 45 forts of Stelling van Amsterdam, considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It will be a stage of tranquility and natural space.
Day 4: Tabor – Hluboka nad Vltavou 60 km
The next stage will take you back to the history of the set of 9 windmills. Today, it is a fabulous biotope for meadow birds. Continuing through Woerdense Verlaat, which is part of another defense system, called “Disaster of the year 1672” with the arrival of the French troops. At Nieuwkoopseplassen, you can stop to rest and explore the tranquility of the place.
Day 5: Hluboka nad Vltavou – Cesky Krumlov 40 km
Cycling along the Amstel River to Amsterdam, it will be a journey through many spectacular buildings and parks. In Amsterdam, the most famous attractions are the canals, beautiful houses that follow the same structure and culture. On the way back, you will cross the great forest of Amsterdam, the botanical gardens.
Day 6: Cesky Krumlov – Passau 55/90 km

I am only one person, can I still book?
Yes, you can book as a single traveler.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.
Are there roads?
Practically the entire trip is on Vias Verdes, tracks or asphalt roads. If you make the stage to Valencia, there are a few kilometers of link that are made by road where you should drive with caution.
