Champagne by Bike: The Secrets of the Champagne Region

This cycling tour takes you deep into the heart of the Champagne region, combining vineyard landscapes, historic villages, and world-famous wine heritage. Starting and ending in Reims, the route is designed for leisure cyclists who want to enjoy gentle rides, cultural visits, and local gastronomy at a relaxed pace.
Cycling routes follow quiet vineyard roads, secondary countryside lanes, and well-maintained paths through the Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne. Daily distances are moderate, allowing time for cellar visits, tastings, and exploration of charming Champagne villages such as Hautvillers and Épernay.
Day 1 – Arrival in Reims Arrival, hotel check-in, bike fitting, and tour briefing. Time to visit Reims Cathedral or explore the city.
Day 2 – Reims → Montagne de Reims Ride through forested hills and vineyards of the Montagne de Reims. Overnight in a wine village.
Day 3 – Montagne de Reims → Épernay Scenic descent through vineyards towards Épernay, the capital of Champagne. Optional cellar visits along Avenue de Champagne.
Day 4 – Épernay → Vallée de la Marne Cycling along the Marne River, passing vineyard slopes and riverside villages.
Day 5 – Vallée de la Marne → Hautvillers are Ride through iconic Champagne landscapes and historic villages, including Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne.
Day 6 – Return to Reims Final cycling stage back to Reims through quiet countryside roads and vineyards.
Day 7 – Departure from Reims Breakfast and end of the tour.

The accommodations on this trip maintain a 2- to 4-star standard, selected for their comfort, central location, and warm welcome to cyclists, always in quiet settings close to the points of interest of each stage.
Stays are in double rooms with private bathrooms, equipped to ensure a comfortable rest after each day of cycling. All bookings include breakfast, usually served buffet-style, designed to start your day off right before setting out on the route.
Is it possible to rent a bike?
Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.
Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?
Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.
Is it possible to cancel?
We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.
And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:
– With more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.
– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.
– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.
In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.
