Details of the Camiño dos faros trip by bicycle

Cycle along the Camiño dos Faros from Caión to Finisterre. Get to know the spectacular landscapes of the Costa da Morte and one of the most beautiful coasts in Europe.

Ride along the Way and enjoy cliffs, marshes, paradisiacal beaches, huge estuaries and majestic lighthouses full of history.

Stages designed for cycling through the Death Coast to reach Finisterre and contemplate the End of the Earth.

Day 1: Lodging in A Coruña Arrival in A Coruña

The starting point will be the first accommodation. It will be a day to relax and get ready to cycle the Camiño dos Faros and get to know the Costa da Morte.

Day 2: Caión – Barizo 40km and ↑ 763m ↓ 745m.

You will start pedaling along the Atlantic coast in Caión to contemplate the Baldaio marsh and its seafood crops.

We will ride parallel to a magnificent 4.7km long sandy beach formed by the Razo and Baldaip beaches next to the open sea. The route of the first stage will take you to Malpica and its Sanctuary of Santo Adrián.

Día 3: Barizo – Laxe 60 km y ↑ 1319m ↓ 1354m

During today’s stage you can enjoy a wonderful landscape full of lighthouses along the coast. Among them are the lighthouses of Punta Nariga, the Roncudo lighthouse and the lighthouse of Laxe.

In addition to the impressive lighthouses, you will cycle through a multitude of coves and beaches such as Barda or the giant tongue of sand of Barro beach in the Neaño estuary. It is worth contemplating the dolmen of Dombate and visit the beach of the crystals in Laxe. Beach formed by pieces of glass rounded by erosion.

It is possible to modify the stage and make it a few km shorter.

Día 4: Laxe – Camariñas 47km y ↑ 734m ↓ 737m

Today will be another day discovering incredible landscapes, the beaches of Soesto and Traba will leave you speechless before arriving at Camelle. Here, a well-known German dedicated a great part of his life to the construction of a world of sea and rocks.

You will continue pedaling by the viewpoint of Punta Lobeiras and the beaches of Trece that form a magical setting with its famous Duna Rampante. The cemetery of the English will take you back in time when the ships ended in the Costa da Morte.

Día 5: Camariñas – Lires 58km ↑ 1140m ↓ 1116m

After a good breakfast, today will take us to Praia do Ariño, crossing the Ría de Porto to Muxía. Here we will visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of A Barca with its beautiful story of the Apostle Santiago and Mary.

The tour ends in a fairytale village, Lires. But before, you will have known the Lighthouse of Touriñán and the beach of Nemiña.

Do not forget to see the sunset in Lires.

Day 6: Lires – Finisterre 20km and ↑ 588m ↓ 612m.

Today is the day to go to the end of the world. Through the beaches of Rostro and Arnela, we will enjoy in Finisterre its lighthouse and the horizon…

The stage ends in Finisterre, where you can eat and enjoy the seafood of the area.

Day 7: Finisterre Breakfast and end of the trip

How is the bike trip along the Costa da Morte?

Cycling the Camino de los Faros is a unique experience. Not only because of the film landscapes of the Costa da Morte, known for the countless shipwrecks that have occurred here throughout history, but for everything that surrounds the trip.

It is one of the most beautiful coasts in Europe for its rugged landscape. On the tour you will find impressive lighthouses such as the Sisargas Islands, Punta Nariga or Roncudo, Cabo de Touriñán, Cabo Vilán or Fisterra (also known as Finisterre) and you will know magical places like the beach of the Crystals or the universe of Man and his sculptures.

You will also learn more about the history of the area, such as the English Cemetery.

Usual accommodations for the trip
The accommodations for this trip have been selected for their quality and location, as close as possible to the route. Always valuing the comfort when arriving with the bike and inspected by our team. They are 3-4 star hotels and rural tourism accommodations, always in private rooms with bathroom and good food!

I am only one person, can I still book?

Yes, you can book as a single traveler.

Is it possible to rent a bike?

Yes, this trip can be done with either your bike or ours. You can choose it during the booking process, hybrid or electric mountain bikes are available.

Is the daily luggage transfer between accommodations included?

Yes, every day we will take your luggage to the next hotel. You only have to leave it at the reception desk, and we will take care of everything. Normally it will already be at the hotel when you arrive.

Is it possible to cancel?

We want to be as flexible as possible. Therefore, in case of unforeseen circumstances, we will do our best to change the dates of the trip free of charge so that you can travel within the same year, as long as you let us know at least 3 weeks in advance.

And if your plans change and you want to cancel the trip before the start date, the following handling fees will apply:

– with more than 30 days, the management fees will be 20% of the amount of the trip.

– between 30 and 15 days, the handling fee will be 50% of the amount of the trip.

– with less than 14 days, the amount to be paid will be 100% of the amount of the trip.

In order to have more flexibility, we recommend taking out travel, assistance, CR and cancellation insurance. Check with us the conditions. Please note that the price of the insurance is not refunded once contracted in case of cancellation or modification.

Are there roads?

Practically the entire trip is on Vias Verdes, tracks or asphalt roads. If you make the stage to Valencia, there are a few kilometers of link that are made by road where you should drive with caution.
